Spring Book Club for HPCB Volunteers
A special three-session book club, offered through a collaboration between Hospice and Palliative Care Buffalo and A Storied Life, a local nonprofit dedicated to bringing more peace and connection to living and dying in Western New York.
This book club creates space – for HPCB volunteers – to explore the topic of mortality and connect with others through honest, meaningful conversation.
Join us to talk about New York Times best seller Being Mortal: Medicine and What Matters in the End by Atul Gawande. This book has been highly praised for its compassionate, honest, and intelligent examination of aging and mortality.
When We'll Meet: Three monthly sessions on Thursday mornings from 10:00-11:30 AM
March 26, April 30, and May 21
Facilitated by: Lynn Riker, Director of Community Outreach, Hospice & Palliative Care Buffalo, and Amber Sastry, Founding Director, A Storied Life
Note: Participants must obtain their own copy of the book. For those reading Being Mortal, you may also enjoy this Frontline PBS documentary based on the book: https://youtu.be/lQhI3Jb7vMg?si=bkx_0v5HdBsnUGIG
